About Us

Byron Pet Clinic is a companion animal practice located in Byron, MN. The clinic was started, and is still owned by, Dr. Garren Kelly. We also have two sister clinics: Stewartville Animal Clinic, that is located less than 20 minutes Southeast from MVVC and Meadow View Veterinary Cliniclocated on the edge of Rochester, MN. The Rochester, MN community is consistently rated one of the best places to live in both the United States and Midwest region. Rochester is a thriving city, with suburban features but is closely surrounded by many lovely small towns for a more rural feel.

Across the three local clinics we have a robust team that include many experienced and talented CVTs, Assistants, and Receptionists to support our continued growth. Our staffing goals include maximizing the efficiency of our DVMs by utilizing support staff effectively with appropriate support staff to doctor ratios.

MVVC is designed to facilitate veterinarians in providing patients with the very best in veterinary care with tools and technology to make our processes safe and efficient. We have:

  • A larger facility with 4 exam rooms, treatment area, large surgical suite, and dental suite
  • Electronic medical records [Avimark]
  • Digital radiography & ultrasound
  • Dedicated dental suite with all new equipment and digital radiography unit
  • In-house Idexx equipment & Idexx reference laboratory
  • Several unique services:
    • Canine Rehabilitation suite with water treadmill and soon to have a dedicated Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner
    • Acupuncture
    • Stem Cell Therapy
    • Orthopedic surgeries

Our clinic ownership and leadership are committed to ensuring MVVC is a great place to work. We feel strongly about supporting all our staff with a relatively flexible schedule that balances clinic needs with personal needs in a way that is fair for everyone. We offer limited/minimal weekends and evening shifts, generally on a rotational basis. Our wages are competitive with industry and the local market, and we offer many great benefits.

Staff are scheduled between the hours of:

  • Mon, Wed, & Thurs – 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • Tues – 7:30am to 7:30pm
  • Fridays – 7:30am to 5pm
  • Saturdays – 8am to 12pm (rotating)

Associate Veterinarian

We welcome both experienced veterinarians and new graduates to apply for a position with us at any time. We take pride in prioritizing finding the best fit for our clinic(s) and team and would hate to miss out on an amazing addition such as yourself!

We have a robust team across three local clinics that include many experienced and talented CVTs, Assistants, and receptionists to support the addition of more doctors to our growing team. We believe that adequate staff is having approximately 2-3 CVTs per DVM with additional support from Assistants and Receptionists. Our staffing goals include maximizing the efficiency of our DVMs by utilizing support staff effectively.

  • Tues – 8am to 7:30pm
  • Friday – 8am to 5pm
  • Saturdays from 8am to 12pm; (rotating with other DVMs)

    • Newer Graduates can expect a starting salary around $100,000 per year [no production].
    • Experienced veterinarians can expect a starting salary between $100,000 and $150,000 per year [no production].

Compensation for Certified Veterinary Technicians varies based on the following:

  • Non-credentialed Technicians wages start between $16 and $21 per hour based on experience and education
  • Newly credentialed CVTs start between $19 – $21 per hour
  • CVTs with at least 3 years of experience can expect to start between $22 and $28 hour

Veterinary Assistant

Receptionist/Client Service

Meadow View Veterinary Clinic is looking for a welcoming, friendly, and reliable person to be the face of our front desk!

Qualifications and Skills

This position is the “face” of our veterinary clinic and centered around the client experience. Our expectations for employees in this role are to always be outwardly friendly and welcoming to every client that walks in the door or calls on the phone. The ability to learn new things, communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail are of the utmost importance. Animals are the reason for our business, but client service is the focus of this position. Qualities of a strong candidate will include:

  • Upbeat and positive attitude with a friendly demeanor
  • Enjoys interacting with people; very personable.
  • Comfortable and efficient working on windows-based computer systems
  • Strong attention to detail with good prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Desire and ability to learn new things quickly
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer service position (at least 3 years preferred)
  • Be able stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time; ability to carry occasional large bags of food.
  • Availability to work within business hours and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work and rotating Tuesday evenings and Saturday morning shifts.

General Job Description and Duties

Customer Service:

  • Have a pleasant and welcoming demeanor with clients
  • Answer phones with a polite and welcoming tone
  • Take accurate and detailed messages for medical staff
  • Accurately schedule appointments
  • Follow patient check-in and check-out procedures
  • Be able to answer basic questions and/or obtain information on behalf of the client
  • Anything else the client needs

Administrative Duties:

  • Update and maintain client and patient records
  • Monitor appointment schedule
  • Oversee reminder system for appointments and health service reminders
  • Communicate professionally via email and text
  • Invoice and bill clients accurately

General Schedule:

  • 4 days per week 7:30am – 5:30pm
  • Rotating Saturdays 8am-12pm (1-2 per month)
  • Rotating Tuesday evenings until 7:30pm (1-2 per month)

Other expectations in the position include some general housekeeping of all areas with extra attention to the lobby and exam rooms both daily and as needed. Additional duties and projects are likely upon request by the manger or other team members.
