We have a robust team across three local clinics that include many experienced and talented CVTs, Assistants, and receptionists to support the addition of more doctors to our growing team. We believe that adequate staff is having approximately 2-3 CVTs per DVM with additional support from Assistants and Receptionists. Our staffing goals include maximizing the efficiency of our DVMs by utilizing support staff effectively.

At MVVC, we believe in fostering autonomy as veterinarians; we welcome and appreciate different styles and/or perspectives of practicing veterinary medicine. Our clinics are all designed to facilitate veterinarians in providing patients with the very best in veterinary care with tools and technology to make our processes safe and efficient. We have:

• A larger facility with 5 exam rooms, treatment & dental area, and surgical suite.
• Electronic medical records with ezyVet with access to all locations.
• Digital radiography & ultrasound
• Dental suite with new digital radiography unit
• In-house Idexx equipment & Idexx reference laboratory
• Several unique services (mostly at Meadow View):
  • Canine Rehabilitation suite with water treadmill and soon to have a dedicated Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner
  • Stem Cell Therapy
  • Orthopedic surgeries

We offer limited/minimal weekends and evening shifts, generally on a rotational basis. Our wages are competitive with industry and the local market, and we offer many great benefits.

Doctors are scheduled within the hours of:

• Mon, Wed, Fri – 8am to 530pm
• Tues – 8am to 5:30 (7:30pm at Meadow View)
• Fri – 8am to 5pm
• Sat – 8am to 12pm; (rotating with other DVMs at Meadow View)

Certified Veterinary Technician Job Description

We have experienced CVTs that are great at providing mentorship to anyone that wants it.

Compensation for Certified Veterinary Technicians varies based on the following:

• Non-credentialed Technicians wages start between $16 and $21 per hour based on experience and education
• Newly credentialed CVTs start between $19 – $21 per hour
• CVTs with at least 3 years of experience can expect to start between $22 and $28 hour

This position is the “face” of our veterinary clinic and centered around the client experience. Our expectations for employees in this role are to always be outwardly friendly and welcoming to every client that walks in the door or calls on the phone. The ability to learn new things, communicate effectively, and pay attention to detail are of the utmost importance. Animals are the reason for our business, but client service is the focus of this position. Qualities of a strong candidate will include:

• Upbeat and positive attitude with a friendly demeanor
• Enjoys interacting with people; very personable.
• Comfortable and efficient working on windows-based computer systems
• Strong attention to detail with good prioritizing and organizational skills
• Desire and ability to learn new things quickly
• Experience in a fast-paced, customer service position (at least 3 years preferred)
• Be able stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time; ability to carry occasional large bags of food.
• Availability to work within business hours and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work and rotating Tuesday evenings and Saturday morning shifts.

General Job Description and Duties

Customer Service:

• Have a pleasant and welcoming demeanor with clients
• Answer phones with a polite and welcoming tone
• Take accurate and detailed messages for medical staff
• Accurately schedule appointments
• Follow patient check-in and check-out procedures
• Be able to answer basic questions and/or obtain information on behalf of the client
• Anything else the client needs

Administrative Duties:

• Update and maintain client and patient records
• Monitor appointment schedule
• Oversee reminder system for appointments and health service reminders
• Communicate professionally via email and text
• Invoice and bill clients accurately

General Schedule:

• 4 days per week 7:30am – 5:30pm
• Rotating Saturdays 8am-12pm (1-2 per month)
• Rotating Tuesday evenings until 7:30pm (1-2 per month)

Other expectations in the position include some general housekeeping of all areas with extra attention to the lobby and exam rooms both daily and as needed. Additional duties and projects are likely upon request by the manger or other team members.
