Byron Pet Clinic veterinary care!

Byron Pet Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary clinic providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-clinic surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and separate dog and cat hospitalization wards.ย  At Byron Pet Clinic we strive to offer not only sound advice, but also optimal veterinary care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn’t feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

Dr. Garren Kelly graduated from Iowa State in 1993 and went on to graduate from Ross University in 1996 where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Kelly and his wife Kelly have two sons Kyler and Kanan along with pets Sissy (Shih- Tzu mix), Roxy Skye (French Bulldog), and Nacho (orange domestic short-hair). In his free time Dr. Kelly enjoys being outdoors, fishing, making muskie fishing lures, and bow hunting.

Liz graduated from Argosy University in 2012 with her AAS and received her certification shortly after. She joined the team in November of 2023 after moving back from the Brainerd Lakes Area to be closer to family. She is fear free certified and considers lab work to be one of her favorite areas. In her spare time, Liz enjoys kayaking, bow hunting, and reading books. Liz shares her life with her husband, Taylor; their three children, Wyatt, Gabriel, and Hadley; their dogs, Moose, Reese, Koda, and Thor(pictured); their cats, Luigi, Mario, Bowser, and Winifred; and their guinea pigs.

Dr. Samantha Johnson is a 2009 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary medicine. After Working in the Twin Cities for a few years, she moved back to closer to Rochester and started working part-time at Byron Pet Clinic in August of 2015. Dr. Johnson most enjoys surgery and internal medicine as well as getting to know our great clients and their pets. Although both a cat and dog lover, cats hold a special place in her heart. Dr. Johnson lives on a hobby farm with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, three cats, six sheep, several chickens and a goat. In her free time, Samantha enjoys being outside, sewing, baking, and playing with her kids.

Hi! My name is Maia. I grew up outside of Medford on a small hobby farm before moving to Byron in 2017 to join Byron Pet Clinic. I graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College with my Veterinary Technician degree in 2017. My favorite part of work is helping the animals feel better and learning new things. I live with my rescued Corgi named Nox. When not at work, I enjoy camping, kayaking, reading, and the cinema with my family.

Dr. Meghann Rosburg is originally from Iowa and attended Iowa State University for both undergrad and veterinary school. She graduated from ISU in 2019 and has practiced in southern Minnesota ever since. While she enjoys the diversity that the profession has to offer, she particularly enjoys surgery and dentistry. As she continues to โ€œpracticeโ€ medicine, she is learning to use ultrasound to better diagnose patients. During appointments, you may hear a good dad joke or two. Outside of work she is kept busy with her two children and husband, following the Iowa State Cyclones and Minnesota Vikings.

Hi everyone my name is Nicole. I graduated from RCTC in 2013 with an AAS degree for veterinary technicians. I have been a technician since 2014 and started working for the Byron Pet Clinic in the summer of 2015. I love what I do, I get to work with cats and dogs and it never gets boring with all of the new and fascinating cases we get presented with. I live at home with my fur baby, Bandit. Like most cats, he likes to eat, sleep, and watch the birds and squirrels. When Iโ€™m not working I like to doing crafty things, such as string art, cross stitch, and making jewelry.

Dr. Katie Elder (she/they) graduated from Lagrange College in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Biology, and then attended the University of Missouri where she received a dual degree in Veterinary Medicine and Public Health in 2018. At work, she's interested in population and preventative medicine, and internal medicine. Outside of work, they're interested in their cats, gardening, crafting, and music.

Melissa has been working in veterinary medicine since 2009. She graduated with an AAS in Veterinary Technology in 2010 and worked as a CVT for several years in companion animal clinics around the Twin Cities Metro. In 2014, Melissa finished her bachelors degree in Business Administration at Metropolitan State University and transitioned down a path towards management and leadership within the veterinary industry. Melissa enjoys learning about animal behavior and in 2015 she became Low Stress Handling Certified - Silver Level in 2015 through Dr. Sophia Yin's intensive training program and Fear Free Certified the same year. Through the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association (VHMA), Melissa earned the distinction of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in early 2021. Melissa has a passion for business. people, and pets and uses her skills in business management and team leadership to support an amazing group of veterinary professionals in providing the best service possible.

Melissa and her husband were both born and raised in Rochester and after 12 years in the Twin Cities they moved back with their 3 kids to be closer to family. They have a Cavapoo named Cookie.
